I'm Gene Stevenson. I started putting on honky-tonk shows because the local rooms I loved deserved better than a jukebox on a Friday night.
Before this, I [what you did before — one line]. These days I handle the booking, the promoting, and I make sure the night runs right from doors to last call.
My one non-negotiable: everybody in the building — the bar staff, the band, and every person who paid cover — gets treated right. Do that, and the room takes care of itself.
